Troubleshooting
If you’re experiencing issues with the ChatGPT to Word or PDF Chrome extension, here are some common problems and how to resolve them.
Export buttons not showing
- Make sure you’re on a ChatGPT page: The extension only activates on page
chatgpt.com/your-chat-id
. - Refresh the page: After installing or updating the extension, reload the ChatGPT tab.
- Disable conflicting extensions: Some extensions that alter ChatGPT’s UI can interfere. Try disabling them temporarily.
File not downloading
- Check browser permissions: Ensure that Chrome is allowed to download files. Navigate to Chrome settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → Automatic downloads.
- Look for blocked popups: Some browsers may block downloads automatically. Check your address bar for download warnings.
- Try again: Occasionally, a network or rendering delay can prevent the file from generating. Click the button again after a few seconds.
License not recognized
- Verify you entered the correct key: Ensure there are no spaces or typos.
- Refresh the ChatGPT tab after entering your license in the popup.
